Representative Jung Hoon Kim is an expert in the field of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies for global finance and social problems. He has experience in the Seoul Metropolitan Government. He had not only been a Special Advisor to the President & Senior Public Relations Officer at the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), an affiliated organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but also the Secretary-General of the UN SDGs Forum of the Korean National Assembly.

In particular, in 2014 and 2016, he led the official visit to the United Nations with the member of the Korean National Assembly from the ruling and the opposition parties and CEOs of the major domestic companies.

In July 2019, he was selected as the exhibitor of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (UN HLPF 2019) along with 35 organizations around the world, displaying the corporate sustainability model at the UN headquarters in New York.

He currently holds the position of Senior Research Associate at UNRISD (United Nations Research Institute for Social Development), a prominent research body within the United Nations, and undertakes advisory roles for the United Nations. Additionally, he is also a member of the International Cooperation Division of the Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth, the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, and the Credit Recovery Committee.

He is an Observer of the Green Bond, Social Bond, and Sustainability Bond, and Social Bond Working Group member of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA). Moreover, he actively provides advice and supports the SDGs and ESG as an ESG committee member of the public and private sectors of the government bodies (eg. Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, Credit Counseling & Recovery Service), major companies, and small and medium enterprises.

He was also awarded with the Order of the Prime Minister’s Commendation (Innovative finance merit) on Finance Day 2022.

He has published several books, including ‘Leading Sustainably (PAKYOUNGSA, 2022)’, ‘Stand Shoulder to Shoulder with Global Leaders (21st Century Books, 2009)’, ‘Everything is Possible If You Believe in It (Book Lab, 2015)’, and so on.

 

 

Deputy Representative

 

Hyeyoung Kang, deputy representative of the Association for Supporting the SDGs for the United Nations (ASD), holds a Master of Arts in Korean Reunification Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea.

Prior to joining ASD, she worked as a journalist covering monetary policy, financial markets, and the economy. She is actively involved in the field of climate, biodiversity, social issues, and finance, currently serving as an expert member of the International Cooperation Subcommission of the Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth, collaborating researcher for the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), member of the International Capital Market Association(ICMA)’s Sustainability-Linked Bonds Working Group, ESG Steering Committee member of the Honam National Institute of Biological Resources(HNIBR), and member of the Federation of Korean Industries’ ESG Alliance.

Advisory Chairman & Senior Researchers & Specialist

The association is joined by six full-time researchers, three non-executive specialists, and 30 advisors (corporate executives and legal advisors).

The chair of the advisory committee is Jong-Soo Yoon, senior Advisor of Kim & Chang, who served as the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Environment after passing the 26th Public Administration Examination in 1982. He has over 30 years of experience in international organizations, serving as the Councilor of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations and the Head of the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development.

As a doctor in Environmental Engineering, he has high expertise both nationally and internationally, and is serving as the Director of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) and the Chairman of the Environmental and Social Advisory Committee for EDCF, Export-Import Bank of Korea.

Tae-Koo Lee is an M&A officer at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)  New York headquarters, a global accounting firm, and assists the association in finance.

Jun-Haeng Jo is a leading industrial designer at National Geography, Samsung Economic Research Institute, and SK Telecom.
